Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff.  Don't Let It Go Unheard: Interview with Hayley Mary of The Jezabels | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:17:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. During the first hour today, we'll hear our interview with Hayley Mary, lead singer of Australian "intensindie" band, The Jezabels. We spoke with Hayley a couple days ago and we think you'll agree, the interview was more than we could have expected or hoped for! During the second hour we'll also discuss some of this week's top stories. See Program Notes at www.dontletitgo.com for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

Don't Let It Go Unheard: Are You on the NSA's List? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:06:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. Glenn Greenwald is going to publish a list of people targeted by the NSA. (Should we start a betting pool? How many listeners of this show are on the list?) In addition, this week NBC broadcast its exclusive interview with Edward Snowden within days of Objectivist Peter Schwartz publishing a scathing critique of Snowden. These stories and more on today's show. See Program Notes at www.dontletitgo.com for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss. Like what you hear? Click "follow" to be notified of future shows!

Don't Let It Go Unheard: Inspiration vs. Indoctrination | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:21:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. Today's show title was inspired (pun intended) by the juxtaposition of two stories about the future of education in the United States. One story is about a new startup that aims to inspire grade school children to love and learn about science. The other is about a White House official who, after considering the system of educational indoctrination in China, concluded that, even in the United States, "high schools probably have a significant ability to move students toward what they consider 'a correct worldview, a correct view on life, and a correct value system.'" But, as we'll see, the theme can be carried beyond the realm of education, to Obama's use of his "pen and a phone," to his characterization of Obamacare, to Islam and other totalitarian religions, and more. This dichotomy might even help explain the success of non-liberal talk radio! Check out program notes for today's show at www.dontletitgo.com.  Don't Let It Go Unheard: Don't Let It Go! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. Today we will revisit Ayn Rand's essay, "Don't Let It Go," which was the inspiration for the name of my blog and my podcast. We'll look at our nation's actions, culture and sense of life, and ask: How are we doing in 2014 vs. in 1971, when Rand published the original essay? In the process we'll be discussing, as usual, some recent news stories. See Program Notes at www.dontletitgo.com for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

DLIGU: Dude! A Pro-American Administration Is, Like, So Three Decades Ago! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. Today we can't resist talking about the Obama Administration lackey who called Brett Baier "Dude" on Fox News yesterday. It's a perfect encapsulation of the Obama Administration: Its conviction that it has the media in its pocket, its contempt for the American people, its lack of decorum, its refusal to be held accountable---both for its failure to do its job, and for its insistence on doing a whole bunch of things that aren't its job. A number of the stories we will discuss today touch on this theme, but there's a lot more as you'll see in the program notes at www.dontletitgo.com.

Don't Let It Go Unheard: Wishing Won't Make It So | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Israeli prime minister Netanyahu quits "peace talks" for good reasons, and Obama says it's just a "lack of will." Obama announces a bunch of nothing, declaring it a proposal to end the NSA bulk data collection, and not only do the media step in line, even Edward Snowden hails it as a "turning point." An "Interfaith Panel" demands the removal of all mention of "Islamic terrorism" -- from the 9/11 Memorial! And much more on today's show focusing on the mindset of those who believe that wishing will make it so. Don't Let It Go...Unheard is a weekly live show devoted to discussion of news, politics and culture from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff.

Don't Let It Go Unheard: How Do You Make Lemonade? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:58:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. The originator of the proverb, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade," did not have in mind the sort of "lemons" we are being handed today: foreign and domestic policies that are, without exaggeration, anti-life. What are you doing--or what do you plan to start doing--to make lemonade out of this rotten fruit while working to save the country? We'll start in the first hour by discussing some of this week's lemons, while devoting the second hour to the making of lemonade. Be prepared to call in with your lemonade recipes (or to share them here in chat)! Go to www.dontletitgo.com for links to all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss today.

Don't Let It Go Unheard: Hail Hydra! Fascism in America | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. In honor of Captain America 2---which we hope to discuss with some of you (call in!) during the last half hour of today's show---today we'll discuss several stories relating in different ways to the fascist style of government that existed in Nazi Germany and, to an increasing extent, in the United States today. Check out the program notes at www.dontletitgo.com for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

Don't Let It Go Unheard: Captain America vs. The NSA | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. Today we'll discuss stories of the week and then, during the last half-hour of the show, we'll discuss Captain America: Winter Soldier. There will be spoilers, which is why we're waiting until the end of the show. See program notes at www.dontletitgo.com, for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

DLIGU: We're Already Unilaterally Disarmed. Will We Re-Arm In Time? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:59:00

Weekly live webcast/podcast devoted to discussion of news and politics from the perspective of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Hosted by Amy Peikoff. There's been speculation about the motivation behind the publication of a study threatening world destruction as the result of even a "small" nuclear war. Is Obama planning unilateral nuclear disarmament? I'll argue that we're already unilaterally disarmed, even with enough nukes to destroy the world several times over. Listen to find out why, and what can be done about it.
