Melanie Nayer: Hey, everybody! Welcome to the Life Tips radio show this Wednesday, October 11th. Today, we are talking about Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is obviously in October. We're going to have some great guests on today, one of them being the Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul Author and the other, a Life Tips Expert Guru and also an author herself, Barbara Phillips. So, we want to start today…I’m going to talk to both of these women about their stories, their books, their activities and their writing. Then we’re going to bring Byron in and have everybody talk a little bit together about what’s happening and what’s going on. So, let’s start first with Mary Olsen Kelly. Mary, are you there? Mary Olsen Kelly: Yes, I am. Hi. Melanie: Hi, how are you? Mary: I’m great and it’s wonderful to be here. Melanie: Oh, it’s wonderful to have you here. How’s Hawaii? Mary: Well, I’m actually in California today. I live in Hawaii but I’m in the middle of a promotional tour for my two books. One of them is Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor’s Soul and the other is called the #1 Best Tools and Tips from the Trenches of Breast Cancer.

Melanie Nayer: Hey, everybody. Welcome back to Life Tips radio show. Today, we are talking about everything environmental, green, holistic and healthy. My guest today is Crissy Trask, the green living celebrity guru here at LifeTips.com. Crissy, are you there? Crissy Trask: I am. Melanie: How are you, Crissy? Crissy: I'm fine. Melanie: Thanks so much for joining us today. Crissy is the sole proprietor of GreenMatters.com a business, which was started in 1999 to advance environmental education and activism online. Tell us a little bit about what's going on, Crissy. Crissy: Well, I just come out with our book called It's Easy Being Green. It's a handbook for earth-friendly living. It's a little bit different than other green books. This book addresses some of the reasons that people don't do more to lighten their impact and get active reasons like people are busy. They think they don't have the time that they don't recognize many of their opportunities to change if they lack the knowledge and the resources to solve problems directly. So, instead of just telling people what they can do, I wanted a book to give people sound reasons to plan their resources to help them follow through on improvements.

We've got a couple of exciting guests on the show that in the space of invention and we want to get rich quick. Melanie Nayer: Hi everybody, welcome to today's Life Tips show. This is Melanie Nayer, editor of Lifetips.com. I am flying solo today as the host of the show in an effort to hold on to what is left of summer in New England. My fearless leader and co-host, Byron White, took the afternoon off to golf with some buddies. Since Byron isn't here to spend the web marketing and SEO angle, editorial gets to dominate the show. So, I am quite excited about that, but in order to keep with Byron's theme, I wanted to devote this hour to sports and networking. As a reporter and journalist here in Boston, sports is in our blood, our heart, our souls and we live for it, whether its the Red Sox, the Pats, the Bruins, and of course, our favorite teams over in New York and Chicago who help us along the way. But, today what I thought we'd talk about is networking on the course and talk a little bit about business deals made when it comes down to sports and networking opportunities. I did a story for the Boston Globe last summer that talked about networking opportunities and how business deals were really made when you have a social connection. I am always intrigued at how sports really plays a larger role in business. So, we have a couple of guests today that I want to introduce you to. Our first guest is Alex Baldwin. She is the Vice President of Golf at the Fenway Sports Group. Alex is the Vice President, like I said for the Fenway Sports group but, she is also responsible for managing golf programs for the group's corporate clients. Most recently, Alex works with the Deutsche Bank Championships which was held here in Massachusetts down at the Tournament Players’ Club. She managed the sponsorship sales to generate new partner relationship so I welcome Alex, good to have you here.
