Would a good God send people to Hell? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:28

Skeptics Forum - 6: Hell is one of the most controversial issues in regard to Christianity. Many people reject Jesus and the Gospel on this issue alone calling it repulsive, irrational and barbaric. But is Hell barbaric? Is it repulsive and irrational? Does God really send people there? In this message we explore all of these questions and more.

Isn't Jesus just another ancient myth? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:21

Skeptics Forum - 5: The Christ Myth Theory has become more and more popular today because of films such as Zeitgeist, Religulous, and books like The Pagan Christ and The Christ Conspiracy. It espouses that Jesus was not a historical person but a made-up copycat god whose life is modeled on ancient pagan gods such as Horus, Mithras, Dionysus and others. In this message we explore the alleged parallels between these gods and Jesus against the original writings and more importantly, the implications for Christian faith.

Can the Bible really be trusted? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:05

Skeptics Forum - 4: Is the Bible really a Holy book? Is it just full of metaphors? Is it a concoction of books brought together a long time ago with no real relevance today? We look at some of the reasons why the Bible is not only a historically accurate and respected document but also the living Word of God with life-changing power.

How could a good God allow evil and suffering? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:28

Skeptics Forum - 3: Considered one of the hardest questions in the history of human thought, is it possible to believe in God in a world filled with evil and suffering? The famous philosopher David Hume posed the problem this way - Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Why then is there evil? - Many face evil and suffering and conclude that God does not exist. Others say evil does not exist. Christianity however says God and evil and suffering exist. How is this possible?" The podcast opens with Heath Jackson sharing his personal perspective while he is currently recovering from a devastating motorcycle accident. John Broadhead closes with Andy Park's "Yet I Will Praise", a poignant response to this tough subject.

Can there be just one true religion? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:37

Skeptics Forum - 2: Ghandi, John Lennon, and Oprah all agree: all religions are true, and are just different paths to God - and our culture has believed it. In this message we explore three reasons why this position is logically impossible and how it is more a product of cowardice, and naivete than a real search for truth.

Does God Exist? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 50:36

Skeptics Forum - 1: Is it irrational to believe in God? Does belief in the existence of God go against scientific and experiential evidence or grow out of it? In this message we explore 3 evidences of God existence.

Up Close and Personal (Rev 3:7-13): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:53

SEVEN - 7: It's easier to keep God at a distance by talking about Him instead of to Him; to do theology and treat Him as the object of a conversation rather than inviting Him into our lives for personal interaction and relationship. In the letter to Philadelphia Jesus connects to the city through different images so that they, and us, realize that He wants their faith to be personal and transformative.

 Concrete Jungle | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:27

We are all missionaries. Jesus has opened the door to the eternal Kingdom and is giving us opportunities, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to reveal the Gospel to everyone around us. Paul shows us how to study, research and understand a culture for the sake of the Gospel. We are called to look at our culture of movies, technology, books and life experiences with "Gospel" eyes in order to uncover God's work around us. We examine our culture and share our understanding in order to connect and move our friends and family towards the open door - Jesus.

 The Pretenders (Rev 3:1-6): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:02

SEVEN - 6: The church at Sardis: Are you pretending or really sold out for Christ?

Sex and the City (Rev 2:18-29): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:05:02

SEVEN - 5: What does Grey's Anatomy, The Blindside, and the murder of Kitty Genovese in New York City in 1964, have to do with following Jesus in the twenty-first century specifically in regard to sex? In this message we do what Jesus does in his letter to Thyatira, something we often fail to do: he confronts the church on it's sexual sin.

 Inception (Rev 2:12-17): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:27

SEVEN - 4: The recent film Inception is all about impacting someone's life by implanting an idea in their mind, based on the premise that a single idea from the human mind can transform the world. Jesus agrees in this passage about Perganum. Christian discipleship is a battle for the mind - a war being fought every day not with bombs or guns but ideas. He knows that if the world around us captures our minds we will always struggle to be disciples in the world but not of the world. If our minds can be shaped around him we can be successful in the high calling of loving, worshiping and following Jesus in our world today.

Faith Under Fire (Rev 2:8-11): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:13

SEVEN - 3: White-collar, domesticated, middle-class Christianity needs a wake up call and in this letter Jesus gives us one! He encourages Smyrna and his followers all through history to be faithful to him in the face of the day to day pressures of our lives. Everything from persecution to running businesses to raising kids brings with it a pressure when following Jesus. But does he always promise to lift the tribulation of our lives?

Jonah: Religion Spirituality and Idolatry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:18

The story of Jonah and the great fish is often seen as a children's story. But it is anything but that. The book explores God's challenge to us all when it comes to religion, spirituality, and idolatry and points toward the true and better Jonah, Jesus.

 The Breakup (Rev 2:1-7): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:47

SEVEN - 2: Jesus encourages the church at Ephesus in their diligent, gospel-oriented work - faith that filters down to real life change - but says he has found a major flaw in them as well: they have fallen out of love with Him. They have lost their first love. He then helps us to understand what to do about it if that happens.

 Cosmic Jesus (Rev 1:9-20): SEVEN | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:35

SEVEN - 1: Things are not as they seem. There is more to the world than we think. Before the letters to the seven churches begin, we are introduced to their author, Jesus. But not the Jesus we are used to thinking about - the poor Galilean peasant, who told stories, walked on water, and was crucified, Jesus as he was in his incarnation. Revelation unveils a different angle on Jesus. The veil is pulled back and we see the unseen reality of Jesus and the present world. This is the beginning of our journey down the rabbit hole.
