October 27, 2021 - Season 12, Episode 41 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about all that has transpired with the Pittsburgh Steelers so far this week as the team prepares to play the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over all the main talking points to come out of his weekly session. We spend a lot of time reviewing Tomlin’s comments on him being speculated to be a candidate for a few college head coaching jobs such as LSU and USC. We go over everything related to him dismissing the notion that he would take any college coaching job ever.Tomlin commented on several other topics as well and we recap the notable responses. We also talk about the health of the Steelers coming out of the team’s bye week.The Steelers look to have running back Anthony McFarland Jr. back on the field on Sunday we spend time talking about that roster move, which ultimately took place while we recorded the show. We cover that breaking news later on in the show and go over the full list of transactions that took place on Wednesday.Tomlin talked more about quarterback mobility during his Tuesday press conference, so Alex and I spend time on that topic.In the middle of this Wednesday show, Alex and I are joined by Scott Petrak, who covers the Browns for several outlets and that includes Browszone.com. As usual, we talk to Scott about what all is going on with the Browns this week. We also talk about the upcoming Sunday game between the Browns and the Steelers in Cleveland. In this Monday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers bye week that has now come to a close.There was some news concerning the Steelers over the weekend that included word that the team has been contacted about potentially trading away outside linebacker Melvin Ingram. We address that report and whether or not we think the Steelers would trade away Ingram before the deadline. We also talk about if we see the Steelers making any trades in the next week.With the Steelers on their bye week, we witnessed the Cleveland Browns winning their Thursday night game and the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. We address the state of the AFC North entering Week 8 and how the upcoming Sunday game between the Steelers and the Browns is a big one for the visiting team.Alex and I take some time to address the rest of the AFC and the Steelers chances of making the playoffs with week 8 about to get underway.What do the Steelers need to improve on as they exit their bye week? Alex and I spend some time on that topic and once again go over what a big three-game stretch the team now has on-deck.Alex and I got a chance to watch quite a bit of college football over the weekend, so we discuss that and go over some early thoughts we have when it comes to the 2022 quarterback draft class. Will the Steelers be in the market to spend a first round draft pick on a quarterback in 2022? We discuss that topic and also talk some about what position the Steelers are most likely to address in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft as we sit here just seven weeks into the 2021 regular season.Alex and I also attempt to make a few future predictions for 2022 based on a few key topical and relevant questions.As usual we finish this show out by tying up some loose ends before diving into answering several emails that we received from listeners since the Friday show.

In this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Cleveland Browns winning their Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos to move to 4-3 on the season.The Browns had a former undrafted free agent running back in D’Ernest Johnson go off Thursday night so that requires Alex and I to talk some about the fungibility of that position at the NFL level.Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ranks super low in middle of field pass attempt percentages through the first six weeks of the 2021 regular season, so Alex and I discuss that and the rankings of the other AFC North quarterbacks as well. We discuss the importance, or lack thereof, attempting and completing some of those middle of field pass attempts in a game and more.Two of the Steelers position coaches, Ike Hilliard and Teryl Austin, both talked to the media on Wednesday, so Alex and I recap everything that they had to see that was newsworthy. We discuss explosive plays on both sides of the football, comments about wide receivers James Washington and Chase Claypool and defensive backs Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Trey Norwood.Alex and I briefly talk some about the TOX stat on this Friday and how the Steelers need to make strides in that category moving past their bye week.Former Steelers safety Ryan Clark sure would like to see head coach Mike Tomlin land at LSU if at all possible so we discuss what all he had to say on that topic during a Thursday night radio interview.Alex and I recap it and tie up other loose ends related to the Steelers at the end of this show and as usual, we end this episode by answering several emails we have received from listeners.

In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about all that has transpired with the Pittsburgh Steelers so far this week with the team now on their bye.We go over the heath of the Steelers on their bye week before getting into all that was said on Tuesday by head coach Mike Tomlin, offensive coordinator Matt Canada and defensive coordinator Keith Butler during their individual press conferences.We talk quite a bit in this episode about what Butler said about inside linebacker Robert Spillane playing some in the team’s dime defense and what Canada had to say about wide receiver James Washington not playing much Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks. Several other talking points from the coaches Tuesday press conferences are also discussed in the first part of this show.Alex and I have digested a good amount of the all-22 tape from the Sunday night game against the Seahawks, so we discuss the good and bad from that. We talk about the Steelers coming out their bye week and what needs to improve moving forward into their next three games, all of which seem very winnable right now.The Cleveland Browns will be without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos, so we discuss that news as well.Steelers wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard talked to the media on Wednesday while we were recording this show and he had some interesting things to say about Washington’s role in the offense moving forward.
