Viene anche chiamata “il bosco”, forse dal nome di Villa Bosco appartenuta ai Malatesta o per il fatto che in tempi non troppo lontani un bosco si trovava nelle sue vicinanze. Nonostante le sue modeste dimensioni, che non raggiungono infatti i 10 km, la storia di questa città è piena di curiosità. Una figura tipica di Gambettola è lo Strazzer de’ Bosch, lo straccivendolo del bosco, ovvero un uomo che viaggiava per la Romagna per comprare e rivendere stracci e pelli di coniglio. Gambettola era la base degli straccivendoli, a cui è stata anche dedicata una statua in bronzo nel centro della città, per commemorare questa antica forma di commercio, che risale al XIX secolo. Un personaggio famoso connesso a questo paese è Federico Fellini, che ha passato la maggior parte della sua infanzia nella casa dei nonni nella campagna gambettolese. Casa Fellini, come viene chiamata dai gambettolesi, compare in molti suoi film ed è ancora esistente e inoltre è attualmente parte di un progetto di recupero del gruppo culturale cittadino. Gambettola è anche chiamata la “Capitale del ferro vecchio”; dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, è diventata il centro di raccolta e riciclo di materiali ferrosi, che ancora oggi arrivano da tutte le regioni d’Italia per lo smaltimento. Dal punto di vista commerciale, si avverte una simbiosi tra tradizione e progresso- da una parte troviamo le antiche botteghe di tele stampate, prodotti per la casa in lino e cotone stampati a mano con matrici in legno impregnate di colore, dal tradizionale ruggine al blu e al verde. Dall’altra parte, la città è sede della Technogym, azienda leader a livello mondiale nella produzione di attrezzi per il fitness. Ospita inoltre alcuni eventi famosi come la Mostrascambio e i Corsi Mascherati di Primavera. Il primo è un mercatino di oggettistica usata e d’antiquariato che si svolge due volte l’anno, il primo weekend di maggio e il primo di settembre. Composta da più di 700 stand, qui si possono trovare tutti i tipi di oggetti del passato, oltre ad automobili e moto d’epoca, veicoli militari e pezzi di ricambio introvabili. Gambettola è anche una tappa della Mille Miglia, famosa gara di auto d’epoca. I Corsi Mascherati di Primavera si svolgono il Lunedì di Pasqua e la domenica successiva, quando carri decorati con materiali di recupero sfilano nel centro della città, ciascuno con un proprio tema. I figuranti ballano davanti o sopra il carro e lanciano coriandoli, caramelle e uova di Pasqua alla folla. L’evento si chiude con la premiazione del carro più bello e una festa aperta a tutti, dove si può ballare, mangiare e bere fino a notte fonda. ----Formal English---- Gambettola, a small municipality in Romagna The municipality of Gambettola is a small town of less than 10,000 citizens located between the cities of Cesena and Savignano sul Rubicone, it`s origins probably date back to the Roman age. Ne sa qualcosa chi, di casa o di passaggio a Castello, si è imbattuto nello spettro della povera Tosca – una giovane aristocratica veneziana – la quale, ancora con l’abito nuziale addosso, erra per le calli alla ricerca del dito con l’anello di fidanzamento tagliatole dall’uomo che non desiderava vederla maritata. La leggenda vuole che solo ritrovandolo potrà finalmente celebrare il suo matrimonio. “Quando Dio vuole castigare un uomo gli mette in testa di maritarsi”. O forse è il contrario? Quarta pillola L’oscurità. Al buio e vista dal mare Venezia è già di per sé tenebrosa, ma a conferma di ciò si narra che nel tratto di laguna di fronte all’Isola di San Michele, nelle notti in cui la foschia è più fitta, sia possibile scorgere una piccola bara galleggiante con quattro lumini accesi appoggiati sopra. Tutti i Veneziani concordano nel sostenere che sia lo spirito di una bambina annegata in questo luogo, durante un incidente nel quale la gondola su cui lei viaggiava si scontrò con un vaporetto a causa della scarsa visibilità dovuta alla nebbia. L'apparizione fa da monito ai tragettatori per evitare che questi vadono ancora a sbatterle contro. “Perdersi nella nebbia”. Quinta pillola La maledizione. Tutti i Veneziani sanno che Ca’ Dario, uno splendido e colorato palazzetto in riva al Canal Grande, è una dimora maledetta. La leggenda che è poi storia vuole, infatti, che i suoi numerosi proprietari, dal 1500 a oggi, siano morti di morte violenta o siano finiti tragicamente in rovina. A dar forza a questa diceria, gli annali del palazzo mostrano una sconcertante serie di lutti e di bancarotte che hanno toccato anche personaggi del più moderno jet set internazionale.
