Hi everyone, I am very excited for today’s exclusive session with one of my favorite DJ/producers… Based in Boston, Chris Micali is a veteran DJ and producer of underground house music. From his first production efforts in 1994 to a currently full schedule of writing, remixing, and DJing, he has taken his unique brand of dance floor certified house music across the globe with over 35 original productions and 60 remixes on labels including Bedrock, Fade, Vapour, Aenaria, Aurium, Open Up, Flow, and many others. He is currently locked in the studio working on his first long play album scheduled to be released in the summer of 2012. Chris now spends his time engineering, producing, and managing Commonwealth Recordings, his music licensing company and record label. With Jimmy Tambourines he is also The Luxembourg Brothers, an indie dance project, who’s ‘The Usual Suspects’ was the theme song for the Southern Comfort international television ad campaign. In September 2007, when Tara Danielle Brooks, put her first needle on her record, she had no idea that her passion for music would soon become her life-long career. She learned to spin records using her naturally talented ear for music. Through this new route, she escaped into the sounds that helped her discover a new meaning to life. Experiencing endless, priceless nights at clubs, parties, & festivals in Southern California, Tara discovered the power to be moved & touched by electronic dance music, causing pure enlightenment. Shes a self-taught deejay who found her destiny was to express her creativity through music. Tara’s passion turned into an addiction, landed her gigs at Las Vegas venues, such as Empire Ballroom, the Hard Rock Hotel Pool, Body English, Drai’s, Vanity, The Artisan, Pure, & Wet Republic. Tara has also performed in a variety of San Diego venues, such as On Broadway, Spin, Hard Rock Hotel, and has gained residencies at the Ivy Hotel and Voyeur. She has also been playing Hollywood hot spots such as The Music Box, Playhouse, Drais, & Ecco, holding residencies at The Music Box & Playhouse. She is an Insomniac, Giant, & Eventvibe resident. From Scottsdale, to Beta in Denver, the Winter Music Conference, Ultra, Insomniac festivals, Nikki Beach in Cabo, the BPM Festival in Mexico, & Pacha in Nyc, it is clear Tara is making her mark on the scene, opening & closing for most of the biggest dj’s in the world. Her success in the U.S. has already taken her internationally to Mexico, Canada, & Jordan. Her passion lies in techno, tech house, progressive, anything with driving bass, moving melodies, & has that special something to touch her crowd. International clubbers have been increasingly drawn to Mladen’s captivating blend of techno and tech house with hypnotic tribal rhythms, with the lucrative Latin American market the latest to fall victim to the Tomic beat. A string of high-ranking releases and remixes for techno’s major players has propelled Mladen to the top of the stack. Recognition for his recordings has delivered Mladen to parties across Europe and the Americas, while his high-spec home studio is more than earning its keep. Major name support has come from DJs such as John Acquaviva, Popof, Richie Hawtin, Umek, Adam Beyer, Dubfire, Sebastien Leger, Kaiserdisco, Tocadisco and many others. Click the post for details on this episode! 2008 and 2009 were breakout years for San Diego-based DJ and producer, Anthony Ross. Writing under three different guises, in addition to ghost writing for other prominent music personalities, he has enjoyed more than six weeks of placements on Billboard’s “Dance Chart,” four of his productions appeared in the “Top Ten” list on www.hypem.com and he has had three inductions on Beatport’s “Top 100.” Anthony has played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry over the past five years and has garnered admirable support for his own productions. His music has been played in live sets by DJs such as: Riva Starr, Tiesto, Sander Kleinenberg, James Zabiela, Hernan Catteneo, Felix Da Housecat, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold, Bob Sinclar, Matt Darey and more. In 2009, Anthony was tasked to produce remixes by Sony for Passion Pit and Chromeo, as well as by Steve Aoki, Bob Sinclar and Felix Da Housecat. He was also a finalist in the Stereo Productions Take Me to Space anthem competition. The media has also been kind to Anthony throughout his musical career, including his selection as the only DJ on 944 Magazine’s “The List,” a profile of the who’s who in the San Diego nightlife scene. 2010 will be comprised of new productions for each of his aliases (DJ Anthony Ross, Bubblegum Sci Fi and Grey Ghost), including his first EP and the release of his signature “Voyeur” track, produced with Darren Mase for the club in San Diego in which he currently holds his residency.
