Into Your Head
Summary: For 20 years Irish amateur humourist, sage, semi-hermetic racanteur, fantastist, socially awkward cat obsessive, energy drinks misuser and husband Neal O'Carroll has honed the art of starting comedic ramblings with no idea how the first sentence will end, never mind what he will say. 800 shows in, he claims he's finally making some progress. Irish comedy podcast Into Your Head's roots include O'Carroll's long enjoyment of classic BBC Radio panel game Just a Minute. From an early age (27) he was starting sentences with “Two Cats walk into a Bar" more frequently than the average man of his demographic, initially in early 2000s humour blog Neal's Belch, which spawned his unscripted yet dialogue-laden Matchstick Cats webomics. By 2006, soon to be former moped operator O’Carroll had noticed saying stuff is easier than writing, and the rest is history. Particularly the first 400 shows which he insists are dreadful. Luckily the series evolved over seventeen years and another 400 episodes to become the free-flowing stream-of-unconciousness humour show it is today. The 2023 reversal of the show's retirement followed a reinvigorating reboot of his Matchstick webcomics at https://MatchstickCats.com - making them more vision-impaired accessible for his ongoing sight loss, even abandoning long trusted MS Paint for MS Paint 3D, although he admits it's relevance for the audio podcast is yet to be understood. And now so can you.
