Red Word Exchange: Invest Time to Grow in God's Word

Summary: The Red Word Exchange is a Christian podcast where we systematically explain Scripture and apply the Bible to our lives in the 21st century so you can understand, live, and share God's Word. We are convicted that Christians struggle to read and understand God's Word but deeply desire to know God and the Bible. Our goal is to faithfully explain Scripture and partner with you as you grow in God's Word. Once you have a knowledge of God and what He calls us to do as His children, you can confidently obey God and experience the joy of serving Him. https://www.redwordexchange.com/

 Evangelism Follow-up - Week 1: Pray Daily | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:17:55

I have a conviction about following-up with those who we share the Gospel with. Since the Pathway to Evangelism series is complete, now is the perfect time to discuss how to practically engage with those individuals who have heard the Gospel. This week centers upon prayer. We look to Philippians 1:3-11 for a guide in this series. We hope you will be better equipped to follow-up on Gospel conversations after listening to this podcast.

Pathway to Evangelism: Step 4 - Share the Gospel | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:22:02

You have prayed for an opportunity, you have initiated the conversation, you have made a spiritual transition in the conversation, and now you are ready to share the Gospel. But, what exactly is the Gospel? Which parts do I need to communicate? What do they need to do with the information that I communicate? How do I conclude the encounter? We seek to answer all these questions in today’s podcast titled: Step-4: Share the Gospel on the Pathway to Evangelism.

Pathway to Evangelism: Step 3 - Spiritual Transition | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:15:36

This podcast details Step 3: Spiritual Transition in the Pathway to Evangelism. You will learn the importance of this step to sharing the Gospel in conversation. Also, I provide two of the questions which I use in personal evangelism to help make this transition. Along with the questions, I discuss some potential responses and encourage you to be ready to share the Gospel if you take Step 3. As always, I pray that this episode will strengthen and encourage you to share Jesus with someone today.

Pathway to Evangelism: Step 2 - Engage in Conversation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:14:32

Sharing the Gospel in conversation is a process. This premise drives the Pathway to Evangelism 4-Step series. Last week we discussed Step1:Prayer. This week we continue in the series with Step-2: Engage in Conversation. The podcast begins with me telling when I realized that someone may need some help with this step. Not everyone is great with conversation, and many people are uncomfortable with spontaneous conversation with someone which they have never met. However, we cannot allow a current deficit to paralyze our efforts to share the Gospel. Notice that I used “current” because you can overcome and improve in this area. The rest of the podcast contains several Scriptures to support our need to engage others in conversation and know their names. I read these verses and highlight how the Bible shows the importance of us engaging others. Lastly, I discuss how we will work together  and support one another this week in the Facebook group. We will all have a goal to engage at least one new person each day this week in conversation. At minimum, you will introduce yourself, learn their name, express your excitement to meet them, and then comment their name or a “thumbs-up” in the daily reminder post. As always, the goal is to share the Gospel, but success in Step-2 of the Pathway to Evangelism will require that we start each day by praying for God’s strengthening and guidance and then engage one new person in conversation. As always, I pray that you are helped in your personal evangelism growth.

I am pretty sure that we should have prayed first | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:14:04

Sometimes we get the cart before the horse. Unfortunately, I make this mistake often. When it comes to evangelism, we must remember to always pray first. Today's episode discusses my failure to begin the Red Word Exchange Facebook group Evangelism Challenge with a week of prayer instead of going straight into action. Beyond the challenge, Christians should begin everyday with prayer to God for strength and an opportunity to share the Gospel.  This episode also contains a devotion on 1 Samuel 30:1-8. David sets a superior example to pray first during a situation where immediate action would have been everyone's first thought. I hope you are helped by today's podcast. Also, I hope you join our group and begin the pathway to evangelism with us today.

EP06: What is the importance of knowing and communicating your testimony? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:16:48

Our testimony does not provide salvation to an unbeliever. However, our testimony can be a powerful element in playing our part in God's salvation plan for an unbeliever. In this episode, I define what a testimony is; highlight the importance of a concise testimony; challenge you to write a 120-word personal testimony; share my 120-word testimony; and invite you to join me in the evangelism challenge this week in the Red Word Exchange Facebook group.

EP05: I have no one to share the Gospel with | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:20:33

"I have no one to share the Gospel with!" If you have ever said this sentence or had a similar thought, this podcast episode is for you. You will learn a simple and practical way to grow your current mission field and have more opportunities to tell others about Jesus.

 Bonus EP: 01 - Ex-Atheist Shares Testimony and Evangelism Insights | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:26:42

Do you fear sharing the Gospel with an atheist? This situation can be challenging and create some anxiety. Today's episode features an ex-atheist who shares his personal testimony of coming to faith in Christ and provides some unique insights for evangelizing those without faith in God. I know that you will be encouraged and better equipped for your next Gospel exchange after listening to this episode.

 EP04: A Yes to Jesus! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:24:58

Today you will hear two stories of the Gospel being shared. The first declines an opportunity to pray and trust in Christ. The second says, "Yes!" to Jesus. As a bonus, Brad will share a discipleship encounter and discuss the importance of the role of disciple-making for Christians. The key evangelism takeaways from this episode are to ask more questions about a person's baptism and the salvation experience which should have occurred prior to it. And ask a person who has not professed Christ as Lord and Savior, "Are you ready to start your relationship with Jesus?"  Check out more episodes and our blog at www.redwordexchange.com

EP03: Failing or Playing Your Part? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:22:18

We often consider ourselves failures when we do not achieve a desired outcome. Considering yourself a failure produces at least two problems. One, your failure can paralyze you from pursuing your goals again. Two, you could have had a misaligned measure of success and actually have succeeded in the endeavor. I seek to help you avoid both of these problems in today's episode.  You will hear a story which details a recent "failure" in attempting to share the gospel with a gentleman during a house clean-out. Along with the story, we discuss some positive attributes of the encounter even though the Gospel was not shared as intended. I hope you are encouraged by today's podcast and avoid the problems of considering your attempts to share the Gospel as failures.

EP02: Lessons Learned at Wrist Therapy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:22:01

Today's show discusses a trip to the doctor to evaluate a potential wrist break. Thankfully, my wrist was not broken, but I was in need of some therapy to help with healing. During my time in the clinic, I experienced a great discussion about church with one therapist and about how the other therapist began her relationship with Jesus Christ. Through this encounter you will learn the importance of going deeper in your spiritual conversations with others.

EP01: Evangelism Attempt Ends in ER Visit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:15:14

Life is funny sometimes. Do we ever really know how something will turn out in the end? In this first episode, an attempt to share the Gospel with some junior high boys during a pick-basketball game ends with a trip to the ER. You will learn the importance of investing, listening, and sharing with others as you seek to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.
