Jen grew up in dysfunction, and at 14 had her first abortion, at 15 she had her second abortion. She started dating her husband of 25 years in her Junior year of high school and married at 22. She took Jesus as her Savior about a year after they were married, and started her healing journey from those abortions. Jen now counsels through Crisis Pregnancy Center to help other women learn about Jesus’ forgiveness and works with them to heal from past abortion trauma. The movie Unplanned was the catalyst for Jen to share her experience with her girls, and that conversation with her girls drove her, even more, to dive deeper into working with women who have also struggled to heal from abortion. * I married a man who had been divorced and already had 2 young children. * We talked about kids before we committed to marriage. -18 yr old daughter who wants to drop out of community college and work multiple jobs so she can move out and be independent -17-year-old son plays travel baseball, is decent in school, and just wants to be an athlete and thinks his goal in life is to be a professional baseball player and to be good-looking - thinks he should be a male model -so many trials and tribulations with kids! -kids being sexually active -teaching them to love people where they are even though the Bible doesn’t support the LGBTQ community. -educating and encouraging them that they are good enough. Being a dad is the biggest honor a man receives since I can't have kids, it was a blessing to adopt my wife's son after we got married being a parent is rewarding but is also difficult at times: being there and dealing with heartbreaks both with relationships and watching our son get hurt playing sports and then not being able to play, dealing with attitude issues and pushing back on house rules You are there to be the parent, set and hold rules and raise them to be good people, not to be their friend.
