Gravel Trudel is a composer for film, television, and video games from Montréal, Quebec. He has a a bachelor’s in music and a graduate diploma in film music form the Université du Québec à Montréal. Gravel Trudel has had an incredible path within the industry and has lots to talk about. He has composed music for many short films, video games, and more, among which are Sur ta rue on Canal D, J’ai une question on Crave, the film The Valery’s Suitcase which was presented at the Cannes film festival, and Viens Manger which was a finalist for the DUX prize. The games he has composed for include Aleo VR and Gravitas. He has also mixed audio for the game Pumpkin Jack. Finally, he works as a composer at Airfix Music, a mixing engineer at Le Confessionnal, and an audio engineer at TV5 Quebec. We are very excited to have him on, and listen to his story. Savage has a bachelor’s of fine art in Electroacoustic Studies with a specialization in composition from the University of Concordia, where she also worked as a research assistant for Eldad Tsabary. She has studied composition with the likes of Georges Dimitrov, Sandeep Bhagwati, Rosemary Mountain and José Luis Hurtado and was a member of the Concordia Laptop Orchestra in 2018. Different ensembles, such as the Low Frequency Trio and the Bozzini Quartet, have interpreted Savage’s work. Her works have appeared in Foro de Musica Nueva, at the University of New Mexico, and at the 60x60 festival at Concordia, Radio WWOZ New Orleans, Santa Barbara Public Television, ArtsWells Festival, Lux Magna Festival and Kulak's Woodshed Hollywood. Her personal projects also include Migration Parade an interactive and collaborative sound installation, Loon Town a four piece Pop/ Synth Rock/ Indie Band where she performs vocals and guitar, and like previously mentioned Low Frequency Trio - Une journée dans la vie du Grand Géocoucou.   Sound Space is a podcast where co-hosts Anthony Caci and Jaian Mascotto interview guests of the audio and music industry. Lacroix-Cardinal is a recording, mixing and mastering engineer from Cornwall, On., but he currently lives and works in Montreal, Qc. He attended the Algonquin College’s Music Industry and Arts program in 2013-2014, where he was a stand out engineer from the get-go. He is best known for being the house engineer at Planet Studios for 5 years, where he mixes many styles of music such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Rock, Alternative, Pop, and many more. He has recorded hundreds of projects with bands, vocalists, voiceover artists and many mainstream artists such as Charlie Puth, Young MA, A$AP Ferg, Rosalía, Half Moon Run, and Corneille. Finally, he was also the recipient of a Juno award for his work with Half Moon Run, and has now gained success as a freelance audio engineer. Pocius is an incredibly talented and driven artist from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. They graduated from Concordia University with a BFA in Electroacoustic Studies and are currently completing a Master’s in Music Technology at McGill. In this episode, Pocius will tell us about their beginnings with music and how they have navigated the industry within Canada and internationally. They have lots to say, a lot to learn from and more than enough experience both academic and professional, to inspire future musicians and all around artists.
