Getting Better Acquainted show

Getting Better AcquaintedJoin Now to Follow

A weekly podcast of selected highlights from the SUT live show: A new night where people get up on stage and do some tragedy: part cabaret, part variety show. Come and let some great performers make you sad, make you think and make you smile. Sometimes they’ll be putting a new twist on what they do with brand new material tailored towards the theme. Expect music, comedy, true stories and more, all playing up to the tragic form but not taking it too seriously. The night will end, not with a whimper, not with a bang, but with a cathartic sing-a-long. Brought to you by Sony Radio Award nominated writer, musician and performer Dave Pickering, this monthly show will be recorded and released as a free weekly podcast at www.standuptragedy.co.uk and through iTunes.

The funk flows through mc's Fortunato and Conscious Thought as they spit raps continuosly over random beats for hours. They drink obscene amounts of heineken and bring a raw drunken vibe mixed with polished skill. They spit freestyle rhymes, which is a form of improvised rap.

This weekly commentary is heard on WMPG-FM's "Hukkin' a Chainek" hosted by Steve Hirshon. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, other times totally out there, but always worth your two to three minutes. Lorenzo has been a part of 'MPG since it was a mono, 50 watt station out of the University of Southern Maine's Gorham campus in 1988. His show, a formatless affair entitled "Emotionally Bankrupt & Morally in Debt" ran for six years; the commentaries will begin its third year in July '06, and are are one of the most downloaded achives on wmpg.org. Enjoy!
