The Chit Chat Podcast

The Chit Chat Podcast

This is Ingrid Romero and this is my Chit Chat podcast! I will be joining you with a new episode every week from my home in southern California, and I hope you’ll love the show as much as I do. So who am I? I am a wife and mother of two miracle twin boys that I love more than anything in the world. While I consider being a mom the most important job in the world, I am also a fitness cover model, online coach, bikini PRO champion, swimwear designer, and founder of the world famous fitness team: Team Edge. This podcast is about being real, just like life. While social media shows the highlight reel, Chit Chat will give you the full movie: the raw and authentic, the sad and funny, the challenges and upswings… everything that comes with being a “perfectly imperfect” human being in an ever-changing world. Like so many of you, I faced some adversity and challenges growing up. Rather than defeat me, they have become a source of strength that has helped me become the person I am today. I live a hectic life to say the least, and I would be lying if I said balancing my career and my family wasn’t a challenge, but one thing I have learned is that you should never sacrifice your confidence or health to achieve material goals. I look forward to sharing with you the ways in which I manage it all on a daily basis, and I hope it serves as a tool to build you up inside and out – emotionally, mentally and physically, so you can feel strong, confident and sexy! Joining me today is my dear husband Joe and good friend Kenny Tenny. I think you guys are going to love hearing what they have to say and the interactions we will be having along the way. Let’s go!

People My Dog Would Like

People My Dog Would Like

Welcome to People My Dog Would Like, a fresh new podcast where I get to sit around a digital campfire with you and explore what interesting people are doing with their game changing ideas, fresh initiatives and cool, out-of-the-box movements with an eye on the future. There are so many sticky, complex challenges we face in the world today that can fundamentally be solved through the exponential advances happening in technology. This podcast is about sharing some of this incredible information with you, to take note and use in your own life, to take advantage of all the endless opportunities that are out there for you to embrace.

My name is Lizzie Mettam and I created this podcast to help drive conversation and action around how we can all work together towards solving some of these big issues. Whether it's what kind of work is opening up for us in our future economy, new education models to consider and trial, brilliant initiatives that help tackle social issues like homelessness, inequity, obesity and the massive rise in mental health problems..... even help with how to parent our children and teenagers in the digital age, this podcast is for you.

I believe dogs are drawn to the kindness in people and they innately seem to know who of us out there is kind and compassionate. So I'm learning with Cha Cha, my gorgeous retriever who doesn't retrieve, to filter my guests and ideas, for a more compassionate future, a thoughtful future...... and together I'm hoping we can drive a positive conversation around the endless possibilities the future holds for all of us. So grab a chair, a stick and some marshmallows and enjoy the conversation.

Opening music credit is the track, Helpless Blues, don't worry, the irony in the title is not lost on me, by the fabulous The Bamboos, a hot Melbourne band.

The Engine Mom Podcast is a show designed to build community through story-telling and to inspire women (especially Moms) to set goals for themselves and think outside the box when it comes to their lifestyle and work. As Moms, we are the driving force of our family; often masters of multi-tasking. Much like an engine, we are made up of many moving parts that create momentum in our lives. Ignoring a single moving part can stall progress toward meeting our goals. In order for us to strive to be better than yesterday, it’s vital that we identify what fuels us: our passions and purpose. It’s important that we re-fuel through self-care, exercise, healthy food, goals setting and by surrounding ourselves with women who are equally as driven. Many of the women that you will hear from on this show run their own businesses, are creative professionals or have unique, yet relatable stories to share about pursuing their passions while raising their family. These stories give an interesting perspective on life as a Mom and are sure to fuel you with inspiration for making the most of your own life.

The Lightburn with Margo Kellison Lightburn

The Lightburn with Margo Kellison Lightburn

The Lightburn is a podcast about living a real life through a yoga lens. Host Margo Lightburn and guests from all walks of life talk about the influence of yoga in their everyday life. When we look at life through a yoga lens it helps us find the unity, the compassion, the forgiveness, the flow, the light. And when we can find the light it takes the sting out of the burn and turns that flame into strength.   Margo has been teaching yoga and capturing the hearts of students since 2003. She grew up in Los Angeles and attended Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, and later graduated as a theater major from Columbia College Chicago. Margo's passion as a teacher has always been to make the "non believer" a "believer"  not just in yoga, in themselves. Women's health, happiness, strength and empowerment is the nucleus of her message through everyday mindfulness and self awareness. She sets her classes to music to motivate and inspire. You leave feeling challenged and changed physically, mentally and emotionally. As an experienced teacher of 14 years she is a mentor to many and integrated deeply in the yoga community. So if you're new to yoga or a long time practitioner Margo meets and inspires you where you are, she draws you in with compassion and sense of humor. Warning: She is known to bust into song at any moment. She has traveled and taught to yogis by the hundreds for Oprah, Smartwater, Lululemon, KIND BAR and is currently teaching and consulting for Nike at the world headquarters in Portland OR where she now lives. She is an innovator and pioneer in new platforms of yoga and fitness and works hard everyday to connect people to yoga and more importantly to themselves. She does this because she knows and believes that yoga IS for everyone, and for every BODY.

1862 Anna Leonowens accepted an offer made by the Siamese consul in Singapore, Tan Kim Ching, to teach the wives and children of Mongkut, king of Siam. The king wished to give his 39 wives and concubines and 82 children a modern Western education on scientific secular lines, which earlier missionaries' wives had not provided. Leonowens sent her daughter Avis to school in England, and took her son Louis with her to Bangkok. She succeeded Dan Beach Bradley, an American missionary, as teacher to the Siamese court. Leonowens served at court until 1867, a period of nearly six years, first as a teacher and later as language secretary for the king. Although her position carried great respect and even a degree of political influence, she did not find the terms and conditions of her employment to her satisfaction, and came to be regarded by the king himself as a rather difficult woman. In 1868 Leonowens was on leave for her health in England and had been negotiating a return to the court on better terms when Mongkut fell ill and died. The king mentioned Leonowens and her son in his will, though they did not receive the legacy. The new monarch, fifteen-year-old Chulalongkorn, who succeeded his father, wrote Leonowens a warm letter of thanks for her services. By 1869 Leonowens was in New York, and began contributing travel articles to a Boston journal, Atlantic Monthly, including 'The Favorite of the Harem', reviewed by the New York Times as 'an Eastern love story, having apparently a strong basis of truth'.She expanded her articles into two volumes of memoirs, beginning with The English Governess at the Siamese Court (1870), which earned her immediate fame but also brought charges of sensationalism. In her writing she casts a critical eye over court life; the account is not always a flattering one, and has become the subject of controversy in Thailand; she has also been accused of exaggerating her influence with the king.”
