Tonight’s discussion will be teaching ethics. Bill Raynovich is an Associate Professor of EMS Education at Creighton University of Omaha, Nebraska. Bill has been actively involved in the field of EMS as a military medic, an EMT, a Paramedic, and an EMS instructor for more than 45 years. Bill’s career in EMS really began as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman and Marine Corps Field Medic back in the 1960’s. He became a civilian EMT in 1970 while working at Freedom House Ambulance, in Pittsburgh. Bill was the first EMS Educational Coordinator at the Center for Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He started the Reading Hospital Paramedic Training Program in 1987 and directed that program for 10 years, before heading off to the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, where he started the BS in EMS program. In Bill’s current position as Director of EMS Education at Creighton University, he is leading the way to developing a Master of Science in EMS program. The MS EMS is already admitting students and is scheduled to begin in March of 2013.
