The weather is warmer and the days are longer. This is the time of year, where a lot of people shed their cold weather clothes and step out of their caves to enjoy the outdoors.
Once outside, the warm weather beckons many people to the beach or poolside to worship the sun and be rewarded with a tan. And who could blame them? The sun feels so good on our skin. Plus, many people think a tan gives them an attractive, healthy look. But is a tan really a sign of health or are we just fooling ourselves?
Unfortunately, it’s really the latter. In this show, I am going to discuss why a suntan is unhealthy, the dangers of getting too much sun and tips on how to minimize harmful sun exposure while still enjoying the nice weather.

For those interested here is a link to the EPA UVI site along with one for Australia and for the rest of the world. Also here is the link to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep website.
Some references I used while researching this show are The New Wellness Encyclopedia, FDA, Mayo Clinic and wikihow.com
The blog posts for this week are:

* Exercising In Air Pollution: Because You Have to Inhale
* Corn on the Cob: Are You Trying to Butter Me Up?

If you like the show, please head on over to iTunes and give me a nice review.
