There is a strong likelihood that many of you will not make it to the end of this podcast and I didn’t wan’t Mr. Rupe’s book to suffer for it because this was a fantastic book and I wanted you to hear about it before you turn off the podcast. * Book review – Day of Vindication by James Rupe * www.dayofvindication.com (http://www.dayofvindication.com/) * Action/Thriller – terrorism, politics, investigation * Multiple characters * The storytelling in this book is very unique, multiple perspectives tell this story as it would play out in real life if it were to occur. * Cool to me being familiar with the Houston area * A nuclear bomb goes off in Houston, TX. * There are more bombs that will be detonated all over the US if the terrorist demands are not met. * The two big plotlines are the reaction of the US to the detonation of a nuclear bomb. * The FBI agents who are trying to track down the terrorists and prevent the other bombs from being detonated. * Not often that I wish a book would be turned into a movie because I am predjudiced that the book is Always Better. * This book would make a fantastic movie. * Has a great plot twist that threw me for a loop in terms of what happens to some of the main characters. * Does a very nice job of giving you an ending that works for the story but doesn’t just spoon feed you a happy ending in 20 pages or less. * This book makes you think, think about what would happen, what would you do if a nuclear bomb were detonated in the US and it also makes you realize just how plausible that reality might be. * Loved the book, it was fantastic. If you like crime dramas, investigative books, action books, spy thrillers, this is a must, must read. * Now for many of you, this might be a really good time to turn off the podcast. * Not because this is a bad episode, even though it kind of is a bad episode but because the topic or issue being is in my experience a very dividing and sensitive issue. * It is also one which I have some very strong opinions about. Statistically speaking I will probably offend roughly 55% of the Hellmouth Podcast audience this week so again you have been warned, skip to the book review at the end * * Now it’s time for the two minute recap of the episode Go Fish * It’s getting nipply at the beach as we celebrate the swim teams latest victory.
