Summary: Ovarian cancer has been called a "silent killer" because the symptoms are often mistaken for other conditions. By the time the cancer is detected, it may have metastasized. As with all cancers, early detection is important. Deanna Won, a retired Air Force Colonel, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer at 45. At one point she was placed in hospice care. But Deanna did not give up.
