Summary: <p>Welcome to season 3! On this episode of <a href="https://www.podpage.com/micro-break/"><strong>MICRO BREAK</strong></a> (Episode 84), following on the heels of episode 83, guest spotlight with Leo Allen, I cover the rise and fall of Boston, Massachusetts' Radio Shack retail electronics stores.</p> <p>The company was started as in 1921 by two brothers, Theodore and Milton Deutschmann, who wanted to provide equipment for the then-nascent field of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_radio" title="Amateur radio">amateur radio</a> (also known as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etymology_of_ham_radio" title="Etymology of ham radio">ham radio</a>).
