Air1 Radio News show

Summary: Adopting a child is beautiful -- but messy. “We’re not always looking at it from the adoptee’s side,” cautions Jenn Hook, co-founder Replanted Ministry. Vanessa Joy Walker was adopted as a baby. “Grief is woven into an adoptee’s journey,” she says, adding desperate questions about birthparents are sometimes suppressed by pressure to be grateful. Walker advises parents to coach even young adopted children on how, when and with whom to share their own stories. “The grief and the gratitude can co-exist.” Air1’s Billie Branham reports.
