Pandemic Effects On Kids' Mental Health with Erin Royer

The Blissful Parenting Podcast show

Summary: We've been waiting to return to normal after the pandemic but even as things slowly shift back our kids are struggling with the adjustment. For many of them the pandemic had a much bigger effect on their life and their development because they are at such sensitive times. Erin Royer is on the podcast today to help us understand how the pandemic has effected kids' mental health and how we can guide them through it. Diagnosed at age 9 with juvenile rhuemetoid arthritis, Erin has spent her life defying the odds. Told not to run track in high school, she did it anyway and grew up to become an age group runner and triathlete. Even after a double hip replacement in March 2017, Erin has continued to participate in runs and triathlons including 4 70.3 (1/2) Ironman races (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run) and one 1/2 marathon since the replacement. Erin spent her early adulthood healing from childhood abuse trauma. After having her first child, obtained her masters degree in psychology to learn about relationships and child development to break the cycle from her own childhood and help other parents learn the skills to be present, loving parents who support their children’s unique potentials.
