Summary: Statistics say that the average man or woman will spend 20 percent of his or her life talking. Each day we speak enough words to fill a 50-page book. But how well do we use our words? Are we careful about WHAT we say, HOW we say it, WHY we say it, and WHEN we say it? There are many important aspects to verbal communication that the Bible challenges us about. Words are so critical that Jesus even said we will “have to give account for every careless word” (Matt. 12:36). In today’s study, Pastor Gary surveys the book of Proverbs drawing out the many verses that address the CONTENT, the TONE, the PURPOSE, and the TIMING of our speech.
