A History of the Incident Command System (ICS)

Between the Slides show

Summary: The Incident Command System (ICS) dates back to the 1970s.  It took bold people brave enough to recognize their collective shortcomings and bring together multiple organizations to create a unified process to save resources, time and keep people safer.  Their foundation helped the progress of the system and the many people involved in it keep communities safer and lessen the impact of natural and man-made disasters. Key time stamps: * 00:02:40 - WWII veteran's bring back command and control practices * 00:11:39 - Early ICS adopters and pioneers * 00:20:44 - Beginning to make progress in the 1970s * 00:29:06 - A Type III regional team managing a Type I international event Thank you all for listening.
