Summary: In my humble opinion there has never been a time in history than now to to live and work abroad as an expat. The incredible connectivity we have coupled with the ability to make money with a laptop is unlike any other time in human history. Our guest today knows the expat life well. As an American he has lived and worked in many countries through the world. Aryeh's first experiences as an expat were in Vietnam in the late 1990's in the construction industry. This was in the days before the internet was mainstream, before email and social media and it meant you had to network the old fashioned way by talking face to face! Aryeh quickly had to learn how to do business across a culture he knew nothing about and on top of that he was in a communist country where he was also unfamiliar with how things were and are done. Aryeh worked it out quickly and he went from working on regular construction projects to shaking hands with the Prime Minister of Vietnam which was complete validation of his skills as a businessman, a hustler and a true expat. This is a go all in story of living in the moment, working as hard as you can and daring to take chances that might pay off in spades.
