Summary: To truly understand where we are as a church, we have to understand where we are as a society. 2018 was marked by pain, division, and turmoil in our community and our nation. As we think about the state of the church today, we realize that the prophet Jeremiah lived in a similar time. In his final lament in the Book of Lamentations, we find three elements of a healthy response to pain and hurt in our world.
