In May of this year, Joy was named the 2019 Florida Teacher of the Year, the first charter school teacher to receive this award. On the show, Joy talks to Ryan about her unique charter school, which is located on a Seminole Reservation and specializes in using immersion-based instruction to teach its students the Creek language.
