Summary: Amy Patel, MD, was the first female chief resident in her program at the University of Kansas at Wichita and was also the only female in an otherwise all male program. Dr. Patel, who is now a breast imager at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Imaging Center, joins us to discuss her experience as the first female chief resident, the importance of mentors to the rising generation and the power of diversity in today’s health care.
