Kids complaining they were bored, Spouse close to losing it having to pick up everyone’s mess lying around, pleading for help and getting blank hostile gazes as only responses... I propose to put some music on.. The communal answer I get is: “You haven’t done anything fun for aaaages “.. Daggers straight to my parental, spouse and music lover heart! I rig up the full DJ set-up, connect the lasers and lights, pump up the volume and start playing something I had half put together during my travels.. Having in mind that they wanted something new but not just new, that they NEEDED something fun and uplifting, sing-a-long and dance-a-long tunes, I shifted to trusted classics of 2007/2009, chose those uplifting progressive trance keys which induce wellness and movement, span and watched… Devices were slowly put down, lips started humming and eventually singing and when I saw my wife’s hands starting to move to the music I knew I had them on the correct path of unplugging from their chores, IPhones, IPads and IMacs to just PLAY and enjoy the moment. They were hearing tracks they knew and some they didn’t. Got their ears full of the Chicane, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Calvin they are perfectly entitled to ache for but also willingly discovered new tunes they were dancing to with a smile on their faces.
