MMP006: Three Things All Musicians Need To Inspire People

The Musician Monster Podcast: Music Business For Musicians show

Summary: We all want to inspire more people. The more people we can inspire and the more lives we can impact, the more fans we will create. When you think about it, the life of any successful musician, athlete, artist, entertainer, entrepreneur, etc. had an impact on many people.
But, what does it actually take in order to do that? What do we need to have? After a few interviews and multiple case studies, I’ve noticed common traits shared by most successful musicians. Perhaps this is forward of me, but I believe I’ve nailed the traits down to three. They are… Vision, Grit and Sincerity — ie. the artist acting in a way that is genuine.
Also, I’m going to play an interview I did with a band in my area. I think this is good stuff because I asked them some tough questions. Pay attention to the consistency of their responses. Consistency comes quickly when you have the three things I mentioned above. You have the same mindset and vision.
I can’t wait for you to hear this episode of the Musician Monster Podcast…
Let’s rock!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
• Vision and why it’s almost impossible to inspire people without one
• What vision actually means when it comes to being a musician
• Discover how one of the greatest bands ever, used their music and vision to inspire people
• Learn about “grit” and the essential role it will play in your music’s success
• Discover what the musicians “fairy tale” is and why it exists

• How a common weakness can eliminate your ability to influence
• Why the most influential people in the world were loved and hated
• Why artists today have to be genuine if they want influence
• How musicians have stayed “hidden” in the past and why they no longer are
• Why artists who allow people into their lives build trust and build a fan base

Useful links:
• Taylor Swift video
• Amanda Palmer: Ted Talks
• Grit: Ted Talks
• Anvil <— These guys have serious grit
• YouTube video of the interview segment
• MMP006: Kobra Paige
Right click here and “save as” to download this episode to your desktop.
Thanks for Listening!
Thanks so much for joining me again this week.
