Phil began his coaching career as he was a actively competing as a professional MMA fighter at American Top Team. Prior to his career in mixed martial arts Phil played football throughout his childhood which eventually earned him a scholarship to Alabama State University where he studied Exercise Science and learned first hand how to run a strength program.
