Your man, Andrew Spivey, here with Nicholas de la Torre. Nicholas, finally a prediction podcast. Cross our fingers that this one doesn’t have to go in the garbage like last week.
Nick: Yeah. Taped last week, and then all of a sudden, I guess we’re not going to put that up. Talking about the game that’s not happening.
Andrew: I was feeling pretty good about my picks too. I really predicted a Florida victory.
Nick: I picked Northern Colorado last week. I’ll be honest. No, I didn’t.
Andrew: You didn’t win or lose. It’s whatever. Yeah. God willing, there’ll be a game this week. Thank God. There’ll be some good football. I think that this is a decent game. I think it’ll be a good game for Florida to get their offense rolling. Overall, it’s a pitiful week of football.
Nick: Yeah. It’s a rough slate of games. Really the shining star this week is Clemson at Louisville. That’s the primetime game. It’s a rough week out here. Rough week in these streets for college football.
Andrew: I mean, the Florida State-Miami game would have probably been your second best game, and that gets cancelled. Then they were probably hoping Texas-UFC would be a good game, but Texas still sucks.
Nick: Want to ask you a question. I feel like we say this so often. Do you think this week’s game is another, like for Michigan, like an ugly kind of grind it out game?
Andrew: If past Tennessee games are any indication, then it probably is a game that is a run the ball kind of game. I say that, but I also think this could be a coming out party for Feleipe Franks. You know Tennessee’s probably going to come into this game thinking, “They’re going to run the ball. They’re going to run the ball.” Maybe get some play action, stuff like that, to come out.
Let’s face it. This is a game that Nussmeier and Mac need from an offensive standpoint, to not only get fans off their back, but to get the players believing in it again. I mean, as a player after the Michigan game, you kind of had to think, be down a little bit on the offense, right?
Nick: They’ll never say it. None of them will ever say it, but if I’m a defensive player for Florida, I’m already thinking, “Oh man, another.”
Andrew: Here we go.
Nick: This shit. It’s got to be taxing. I don’t know how, not after one week, but I don’t know how it doesn’t divide the locker room. It has in the past.
Andrew: Here’s how it doesn’t divide the locker room. Because the offensive guys are pissed off too. They’re like, “Come on. Give me a play call I can work with.”
Nick: Yeah. At some point, when your scoring leaders are two cornerbacks and a kicker, it’s easy to start pointing some fingers, I think.
Andrew: Exactly. Again, I do think that there’ll be some running in the first half. I would say that probably the first half is an ugly half. If you’re Florida, you should be able to come out in the second half and make some moves with the play action passing, that kind of stuff. Not to give away my pick, but you know I think this could be a good week for Feleipe Franks this week. I’m interested to see how the game comes about, just because I think this is a game that could really get Florida’s offe...
