Episode 13: Riëtte Cawthorn

100 Creatives show

Summary: Riëtte is loving Bonnie Christine’s “The Roost Tribe”, Rachael Taylor’s “Make it in Design” course, Lilla Rogers’ “Make Art that Sells” course, Lisa Congdon’s “Daily Drawing Challenge: 31 Things to Draw” on Creative Bug and Pam Garrison’s “Daily Drawing Challenge: 31 Things to Draw with Pam Garrison” on Creative Bug.  Sally is excited by all of the weaving classes that are being run in her local area and by Loom & Spindle, which is a company making weaving equipment right here in Melbourne. (It is so tempting to sign up!) She is also enjoying the work of textile and fiber artist Rachel Denbow. Riëtte mentioned that she likes to crotchet Lalylala dolls (Aren't they so sweet?) alongside her granny squares and you can find the dolls on Etsy too. If you're interested in signing up to try some Skillshare classes, using this link will mean that you will be supporting the show plus you'll get a free month of classes. If you like it, you can then stay on as a member for as little as $11 a month. Riëtte recommends that you check out Bonnie Christine, Dylan Mierzwinski, Elizabeth Holwen, Jamie Barlett, Mary Kate McDevitt, Nina Rycroft and Sandra Bowers - just to get started! Riëtte's advice: Go for it. Starting is the easy part and finishing it is the hard part. Push through the doubt.
