Rob was born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia's<br> Southernmost island State. His family lived in a colonial house in Sorell, 26<br> klm's to Hobart's East. The house was haunted, so Rob grew up with ghosts, or<br> entities as he prefers to call them, as the norm. He attended Sorell Primary School<br> and Warrane High School.<br> Rob joined the Royal Australian Navy for four years before<br> returning home to look after his ill parents. He returned to New South Wales<br> and worked for the State Rail Authority in various positions, ending his time<br> there at Mudgee. Rob and his wife and children We eventually settled on the<br> Tasman Peninsula, where he and his wife worked at the Port Arthur Historic<br> Site. However, the events of April 1996 (the Port Arthur Massacre) changed<br> their lives, and Rob and his wife separated and eventually divorced.<br> Rob's children eventually came to live with him. Today, Rob<br> is a grandfather of two grandchildren, and he currently living in Moonah, a<br> suburb of Hobart, Tasmania's capital city.<br> He has always had a great interest in the stars and the<br> universe, and the paranormal to a lesser degree. As a young child, he would sit<br> outside at night and plot the position of the stars on a piece of paper, then<br> go inside to see what he could make out of them doing "dot to dot."<br> "I remember sitting in class at school, watching Neil<br> Armstrong walk on the moon," Rob said.<br> He I started a group on Facebook called the TUFON -Tasmanian<br> UFO Network, and members started to grow rather rapidly, and as one would<br> expect, from people all over the world. It was at this stage that I decided<br> that there were very few Tasmanian members in the group, so to become more<br> inclusive, I decided to call it Terra UFO Network ... Terra being Earth.<br> I decided to do start the group this for a few reasons, but<br> primarily, because of the management of this subject by various world<br> governments, that is to say their continued denial of ANY UFOs at all. One<br> could also say that current UFO groups may have been infiltrated by government<br> operatives to continue the denial and stifle legitimate sightings and contacts.<br> TUFON now has its main branch with well over 550 members,<br> and we have branches in Canada/USA, UK/Europe, Southeast Asia, South/Central<br> America and our latest branch, Africa.
