Summary: TweetVisit Mathias’ YouTube Channel to Learn More Mathias Rieske grew up in the mountains of Utah, but despite that, he teases his wife that he is still Texan by birth. Growing up in Utah he gained a love of camping and the outdoors, and grew up in a preparedness minded family. He also was involved in Boy Scouts, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout, worked at Scout Camps for a combined seven years, and is currently the Scoutmaster for his local troop. Mathias also was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years. He worked in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas of South Florida where he learned Spanish. He has worked professionally as a Custodian, Police Officer, and Caretaker. His wife calls him a ‘Food Network Junkie’ and ‘a huge goofball’, and he is often found in the kitchen making old favorites and experimenting new ideas. He has been married for almost eight years and is the happy father of two children. Today Mathias joins us to discuss dutch oven cooking including tools, techniques, recipes, cast iron care, keeping costs down and more.
