Summary: DJ and Producer Matthew1626 joins us today to talk about production, songwriting, getting your music out there, and staying positive! Artist: Tech, deep, progressive house, and new disco Producer/DJ Matthew Brown, aka Matthew 1626, from Vancouver, Canada joins The Producer Podcast. DAW of choice: He primarily uses Reason in his home studio, but when working with his engineer, Jamie Kuse, Matthew works around Logic. Workflow: Matthew starts off with a rough draft of a track while working in his home studio. Once getting the rough draft down Matthew sends the track over to Jamie. They continue bouncing ideas off each other until the track is complete. Influences: Hipp-E & Halo, AMtrak, SKLA, Loui & Scibi, Erick Hassan, ATB, and Sasha and Dogwood Successful Career Actions: Matthew1626 gives the belief in himself and his audio engineer Jamie credit for helping him succeed in his music career. Best advice for aspiring producers: Know what you’re producing. Make sure it’s the path you want to pursue. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Get involved in the EDM community to get feedback and to have people spurring you along. Most effective way to market music: He says getting a good label allows for your music to get heard.
