Summary: The Shamrock has been a Madison institution since it opened in 1985. It's often referred to as the 'Cheers" of LGBT-friendly bars... to me it's a place where everyone from any walk of life is made to feel welcome due to it's unpretentious atmosphere and friendly staff. The cheap drink specials always help too! I also dj there every Thursday night (10pm-close) and it allows me to play all sorts of fun guilty musical pleausres that I might not play at other shows.
