Are You Good to Go?

Affirmative Prayer show

Summary: That's what special guests Perry Mitchell and Pam Woodley ask when they give Compassion and Choices presentations on health care planning and end-of-life issues. Do you want a say in what happens to you or your loved ones at the end of life? Will you always want life-sustaining treatment? Do you have an advance directive and a POLST (Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment) AND do your doctors, family, and friends have a copy? If you don't have these filled-out forms available, the medical staff and hospital will keep you alive (and keep a running tab of expenses), even when it is obvious that recovery isn't possible. We plan ahead for life events, and we can plan ahead for eventual death as well. To allow death with dignity and/or get a copy of the Good to Go Toolkit, go to compassionandchoices.org.
