Nostalgic Discussion with Citrix Chief Architect Brad Pedersen - Episode 75

DABCC Radio: Cloud, Desktop, Mobility, Virtualization Podcasts (Citrix, VMware, Microsoft) show

Summary: For the 75th episode we wanted to do something special to mark the occasion so for this very special episode we are very happy to have Brad Pedersen, Chief Architect and Senior Fellow at Citrix on the show to discuss the past 20 years! Brad is also one the first Citrix employees and one of the guys who came from IBM with Citrix's Founder, Ed Iacobucci. That being said, it only made sense to have Brad take us down memory lane and chat about the early days at Citrix, the Citrix IPO, the early dealing with Microsoft, and to basically tell us his story which is more or less the store of Citrix from birth to today. (as much of it as we could fit in to an hour and fifteen minute podcast ;) Brad was also very kind to share the very interesting and downright funny story about the "Ritual of the Monkey" that the Citrix engineering team celebrates before every product launch. I won't tell you more but I will say, they have "backup monkeys"... This one you just have to hear for yourself. Brad was also very nice to share a picture of the Citrix Monkey with us all! I hope you will enjoy this episode as much as I did as for a long time "Citrix guy" it was a true honor to talk with Brad! Oh, did I mention Brad is guy that basically wrote ICA? He is the guy that holds most of the Citrix patents and the key ones around ICA. WOW! Enjoy the episode and thanks for listening to the first 75!
