"Visions of Working Together" a "Living Room Conversation"

Coffee Party USA Radio show

Summary: Have you ever wondered how we, the American people, will get past our polarized viewpoints to just talk with one another about important issues? We interviewed two people who had visions of engaging a lot of people in a more meaningful way to talk about issues they cared about. First, we meet Paul Friedman, a trained facilitator in Sedona, Arizona who was concerned about increasing polarization in his community. So he challenged himself to work with a local group and see how many Living Room Conversations in a single month. The answer is 21. We hear Paul’s story from his initial inspiration to the successful completion of holding the world record for # of Living Room Conversations in a single month. Next we meet Debra Rowe who has dedicated her life to sustainability practices including renewable energy. She worked with Living Room Conversations to adapt the conversation guide to work with college students…both as a credited class and on campus. Learn how she took it to the next level by incorporating civic engagement in the materials.  What is your vision that could use a little Living Room Conversations magic to expand your project? Learn how these folks used an adaptation of Living Room Conversations to reach new people and build community. Wednesday Night 8:30 PM Eastern/5:30 PM Pacific on Coffee Party Radio
