Summary: Seeking Justice: Reported in Kansas Exposed, Kyler Carriker will stand trial for felony murder because, he knew a guy who knew a guy who wanted to purchase a small quantity of marijuana, & knew a guy who knew a guy who wanted to sell a small quantity of marijuana. Carriker, 22, ran into high school classmate Lorenzo Spires. Carriker not a drug dealer did sometimes smoke marijuana. He agreed to help Spires find marijuana. Carrriker would make $50.00. Carriker contacted Kyle Beltz, who contacted drug dealer, Ronald Betts. Unknown to Carriker, Spires had joined a street gang since graduating. The three met at Beltz’ home. Ronald Betts, the drug dealer & murder victim,was the brother of former state legislator Donald Betts. Spires, along with fellow gang members John Carter & Dennis Haynes showed up to Beltz’ home & both Spires and Carter later testified that they had no money, & only intended to rob Betts. Carriker told Belts & Betts to call the deal off. Betts refused. Haynes entered and within 60 seconds opened fire on Carriker, wounding him in the leg & abdomen. Carriker played dead. Haynes shot Betts several times, killing him. The trial starts Monday.
