"Climate March with Ed Fallon" on "The Tim Danahey Show"

Coffee Party USA Radio show

Summary: THE FALLON FORUM — “the fusion of politics and civility” — began in September, 2009 as a pioneering effort to bring local, progressive talk radio to Iowa. Host Ed Fallon is committed to providing a venue for civil discussion of all viewpoints on the political spectrum. For the past twenty years, the public airwaves have been dominated by national shock jocks, who feed the frenzy of increased polarization in American politics. During 2 1/2 years on 98.3 FM, the Fallon Forum saw a four-fold increase in audience size and provided a forum for discussion on issues largely ignored elsewhere on the public airwaves. Between 1993 and 2006, Ed served seven terms in the Iowa Legislature. Ed’s focus as a lawmaker was to champion the needs of constituency groups treated unfairly by government or neglected by the majority of policymakers.Last year, Ed Fallon and Steve Martin walked over 3,100 miles across America with the Great March for Climate Action. The March was conceived by Fallon as a dramatic way to build public awareness about the urgency of the climate crisis. A core group of 35-50 marchers walked 15-20 miles six days a week for eight months. Fallon and Martin were two of five marchers who walked every step of the way.Ed joins Tim to discuss Climate Change. The Tim Danahey Show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners
