2015 July Soulfulips Bar Grooves Edition

House is a Journey show

Summary: SoulfuLips (Bar Grooves Edition) Still riding on my holiday vibe, I felt it was time to revisit soulful house. Soulful tracks were beginning to accumulate in my hard drive and I thought it was time to present it in a series of sets. I am attempting to offer a classic soulful mood using mostly current releases. First one in the SoulfuLips series, the Bar Grooves Edition.   Looking at the playlist with 8 2015 tracks, a couple of late 2014 releases, I feel I stayed within my format. I also included a couple of mashups gems from Mike and Tess. Set does lose focus and oomph midway but nothing can be perfect.   Playlist:   2015 Where do I Belong? (Original Mix). Purple Disco Machine 2015 Song for O (Original Mix) [Xtian King of My Castle Mash]. Purple Disco Machine 2015 What Do You Want. Miguel Migs feat. Meshell Ndegeocello 2014 Everywhere (Panda Remix). MYNC, Mario Fischetti, Deborah Cox, Panda 2012 I Love Rolling Stone (Mikeandtess Mash Up). Dolls Combers & The Temptations 2015 You're Gonna Miss My Love (Original Mix) . Hedi Benromdan 2015 Sweet Baby (Richard Earnshaw Big Vocal Mix). Cool Million 2008 Don't Lose The Magic (David Morales Club Mix). Shawn Christopher 2015 Feels Like Heaven (Main Remix). Joi Cardwell, Lem Springsteen 2015 A Gentlemans Song FK (Mark Di Meo Soulful Mix) [Xtian I Love Edit]. Mark Di Meo 2011 Love Will Rock With You (Mikeandtess Mash Up ). Tikyo & Carlos Vargas feat. Michael Jackson 2015 Something About You (Steve Mac Vocal Revision). Jamie Lewis (UK) 2014 Dontcha Wanna Dance (Julius Papp Vocal Remix). Cool Million feat. Marc Evans 2012 I'm Every Woman (The Checkup remix). Whitney Houston     Highlights:   Love the 2 initial Purple Disco Machine tracks. PDM is definitively the revelation of 2014. Fresh funky, disco and sometimes soulful vibe, with impeccable german production. And I do not mind my mashup attempt introducing one of my fav track King on my castle on top of their Song of O. Please check up PDM SoundCloud and Facebook pages (https://soundcloud.com/purplediscomachine) (https://www.facebook.com/purplediscomachine) and buy their music.  “What Do You Want” Miguel Migs cannot do anything wrong and I love when he departs from strict deep sounds. SoundCloud page (https://soundcloud.com/miguelmigs1). Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/DJMiguelMigs). 2 gems from Mike and Tess (https://soundcloud.com/mikeandtess ). I have been using a lot of their mashups lately. Incredibly talented French duo, most of their tracks available as free downloads on SC. Their take on the Temptations/Doll Combers mash is remarkable and even if it brought the original mood of the set down, I still enjoyed dropping it. The MJ mash is not mad either. “A Gentleman’s Song FK” from Mark di Meo is the absolute stand out of the set. The song, which I believe refer to Frankie Knuckles, has the FK feel and is impeccably constructed. The way every instrument is introduced, very similar to a jazz or a classical construction is truly sublime. Mark di Meo on Soundcloud Page (https://soundcloud.com/markdimeo) and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/markdimeofan) “Something About You” from Jamie Lewis (UK) is purely a result of serendipity. I misspelled Jaime Lewis (Purple Music) on Traxsource and it returned Jamie and this very good soulful track. Jamie Lewis (UK) on Traxsource (https://www.traxsource.com/artist/201511/jamie-lewis-uk) Closed the set with a free download from the Checkup, done at the time of the death of Whitney Houston as a tribute.. Good stuff.. Go to their traxsource page (https://www.traxsource.com/artist/184310/the-checkup) and buy some music.   I will be back soon with another instalment of SoulfuLips.   A bientot   Xtian
