Summary: “Each and every one of us deserves to love and be loved.” - PK Smith The Bucket List Life Podcast #11 - Evolved Economy Leader PK Smith Todays guest on The Bucket List Life Podcast #11 is an expert in Co-creation and the Evolved Economy, Relationships, Leadership Mentoring and a devoted Founder of Impact Malawi, helping to make a real difference half way around the world.  As a Police Chaplin in Brockville, Ontario, PK Smith helps families grieve the loss of a loved one, officers cope with PTSD and married couples find the strength to stay together.  PK is well aware of the importance of having support and someone safe to talk to in stressful times in our lives.   Kenyon and PK know each other from their work together in the evolved economy and Kenyon boasts that PK’s energy is always happy, exuberant and infectious.  With a successful marriage to his college sweetheart of 31 years, PK has a lot of wisdom to share with us about finding true love, staying together in a relationship and making it work. Highlights from their podcast conversation: 2:45     PK takes us way back to his basketball dreams at the age of 9, in 1974, in southern Nova Scotia. 6:00  PK tells us why he is very passionate about supporting people of uniform and the Wounded Warriors Project. 7:30  PK is very proud to be Canadian and he shares his thoughts on the recent shootings at the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. 12:45   Kenyon asks if it’s possible to always be happy?  PK responds by saying that happiness is too fleeting and is not his goal in life.  He aims for achieving fulfillment in all that he does. 15:00   PK tells us the story of how he met, fell in love with and has been happily married to his college sweetheart for 31 years now.   He says, “Our goal wasn’t to be happily married all the time, it was to stay married.  Sometimes happiness was beyond the situation we were in.” 22:00   PK describes his position as the Police Chaplin for the Brockville Police Service for 12 years and the extreme importance of personnel in the service having someone safe that they can talk to in confidence about their high stress life. 24:30 PK describes his mentoring as helping individuals or couples remember and reconnect with their own true values and ideals. 26:15   PK actually helps couples break up and detach from one another in an amicable way when they have decided that their relationship is no longer working for them. 28:30   Kenyon asks what someone should do if they are thinking of breaking up with their partner and PK suggest that they should, “Put it on the back burner and put a pin in it.  If it’s the right decision, it will be the right decision in 90 days.”  A lot can change in 90 days and PK discourages anyone from making life changing decisions hastily based on a very short season in their lives. 33:00   PK defines for us exactly what an “Evolved Economy” is and insists that we are all already apart of it.  He describes how he councils couples in their involvement with an Evolved Economy. 37:00   Kenyon asks, “How do you attract the right person into your life?”  PK’s response is to be authentic and honest about who you are today and the person you are going to be in the future.  Too many people don’t consider the future version of a person when they are dating. 42:00   PK talks about the series of events that led to him founding Impact Malawi 9 years ago, and how he became a Malawian. 52:00   What’s on PK’s Bucket List?   Currently he has no needs and has already personified his dreams with the Evolved Economy and Impact Malawi so he plans on continuing to build generational wealth for his family for the rest of his life.  He also would like to one day pursue a  water project on Lake Malawi. 56:30   PK leaves us with the reminder of how very important the relationship in our lives are.  He insists that if you are not already in love with someone you must decide today to love and let yourself be loved by someone in your future.
