We all need to define what is and what isn't permissible in our relationships in life and to construct protective boundaries to defend those decisions. Setting guidelines or boundaries (whatever you want to call them) is one of the most important and valuable things we can do for our relationships. It doesn't matter how fancy the fence we build is or how descriptive the words we use to build it are.. The point is that we make the effort to define what we will tolerate within a relationship and what we will not allow.
