VictoriaD: Agoraphobia 30 Apr 14

Victoria Derbyshire's Interviews of the Week show

Summary: We hear from a woman whose entire adult life has been blighted by agoraphobia. Pat Cooper is 77. She hasn't been to her local town Darlington since the 60s - and has only managed brief visits to her local corner shop if supported by her daughter. She's missed holidays, family weddings, christmas shopping, days out in the park with her children and grandchildren. But last week she managed to conquer her fear of public places -so she could see her grandson collect a British Empire Medal. We speak to Pat and her grandson Kevin - and we talk to a doctor who says he's angry people like Pat haven't had the treatment they need. Callers share their stories
