What You Need To Know When Caring For Your Loved Ones

Summary: Before this year comes to a close, I wanted to do a show that was near and dear to my heart. When my stepson Chase had a stroke, it changed our lives. While being a caregiver is a rewarding job, it is also a very scary one at that. All of a sudden you are thrown into a situation where you really have no clue how to perform. So today on the show, I have two very important guests that will share their personal stories along with helpful information. First, I have on attorney and healthcare consultant Craig B. Garner who deals first hand with hospitals. He wrote an amazing book called Hospital Stay, Healthcare Made Simple. This book is a helpful guide to the caregiver for someone in the hospital, and after the patient has been discharged. A hospital is not a familiar place for most people, whether you are there for a planned visit or unexpectedly; it’s a foreign place. Craig is here to guide us through the hospital experience. Then later in the show, I have on my good friend Tara Hitchcock. You know her from tarahontv.com, but today she is not giving the latest movie gossip, she too has a tremendous personal story of illness that struck her family. She will share how they made it through. Producer Susannah and I have some helpful articles all about caregiving after being discharged from the hospital with tips on what to bring to the hospital when you visit. It is so important to take care of yourself when you are taking care of another. Dawn McCoy stops in for a Beauty Beat, talking about taking care of your skin. Our hot pick song of the week is by Christina Perri, and it’s called Human. Wow Christmas is next week! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday-hugs and lots of kisses
