The Business of Friendship

PC3 Weekend Service :: Audio Podcast show

Summary: Series: "Handshakes & High Fives", Part 2… If you want to find a friend, you have to be a friend. This bit of advice we learned early on in elementary school and have been trying to implement ever since. The desire to be accepted began as a kid has followed us through adulthood. In order to achieve acceptance as an adult, we’ve become strategic with our friendships and experts at self-preservation. We choose our friends based on how we will be perceived by other people, especially those we wish to impress. Our friendships are useful to achieve our personal ambitions and we use people instead of loving them. Sadly, as a result, we are left lonely and isolated, not because we aren't popular, but because we aren't known. In this series, we want to explore the idea of friendship in a way that doesn't use the Bible as a tag or an add-on, but serves as the very foundation for friendship.
