Behavior Talk 003: Joel Walton

Behavior Talk show

Summary: Joel Walton is a dog trainer from the Washington DC area where he runs Walton Family Dog Training. A charter member of APDT, he is known especially for his work with labradors, and has written a book, "Labrador Retrievers for Dummies." He also leads seminars on puppy training, and has written a book on the subject, "Positive Puppy Training Works.' Joel was gracious enough to take a few minutes away from a busy conference schedule to talk with me about dogs, training, technology, and the future of APDT. This is a special APDT edition of Behavior Talk. We were recently in Portland, Oregon, to attend the annual conference of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. And while there I had the chance to sit down with a number of the conference presenters and other notable animal behavior experts, and for the next two weeks, we're going to be bringing you an exclusive interview every day.
