Summary: Two beers one song! (Two songs, actually.) During a recent trip to Kentucky, I acquired one of them fancy sampler 12 packs from Great Lakes Brewing Company. We drink and discuss the award-winning Dortmunder Gold and the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, both of which are excellent commercial examples of their respective BJCP styles. Speaking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, I knew it was a boat that sank in the Great Lakes, and I knew there was a song written about it, but, as with most things, I don't know anything of any actual value. For actual information read the Wikipedia article on the Edmund Fitzgerald. The song this week is from Neko Case. She released an album recently that a lot of people really really like. The album has a very long title. Just listen already. Housekeeping note: This is the first of two episodes recorded on Russ's deck. It was night and the crickets were out in full force.
