Has The U.S. Government Failed Its Military Veterans?

Summary: Most people, myself included, at some point, were not aware of the uphill battles that the Veterans of the United States Military had to climb upon their return home. The experience of going to war on all levels is something that really no amount of training could prepare you for. Military Veterans can tell you a lot about a world from which most know nothing of....... While the defensive techniques taught and the mastery of the weaponry both basic and high tech are an essential part of being ready for combat, there is nothing like being face to face with the real thing and staring death in the face as it is those times that an individual will find out what they are made of from the depths of their character. Sure, fear is a real thing and one cannot escape it when fighting the enemy but in order to survive one must conquer it and most people who no nothing about combat do not understand being put in a position where all fears must be vanquished in order to execute the training that has been taught. This realization alone has its own set of consequences on ones psyche and can be as varied as the individuals themselves who have enlisted and committed to defend their country in times of war. That being said, there really cannot be a "one size fits all" assessment of the effects of war on a Veteran because the study of the human mind has not ever gone that deep when in fact we all as complex human beings are our own inner universe. It only makes sense that the United States Government would show the support and love of our Troops with the vast resources at their command to help with their re-entry into society by dealing with the various personal issues possessed that were caused by war. Wouldn't that be the right thing to do?
