Summary: MEXICAN-AMERICAN HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR. A World War II veteran who is also a Holocaust survivor was honored at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. Acevedo, who was born in California and spent part of his childhood in Mexico after his stepmother was deported, was captured in France during World War II and sent to a concentration camp in Germany. Today, he shares memories that he kept quiet for decades and that are recorded in a diary that he donated to the museum. This is a holiday edition.
