Summary: SONGS OF STRUGGLE AND MIGRATION. This special Cinco de Mayo holiday edition offers interviews with musicians who use corridos, cumbia, and mariachi music to tell the stories of immigrants in the United States. Los Gallos Negros is a five-member string instrument ensemble that regularly performs songs about migration on Capitol Hill. This edition also features an interview with “La Marisoul”, lead singer of La Santa Cecilia, who recently released the song “ICE: El Hielo”, about deportation and family separation.
